92nd Annual Flintridge Horse Show

NAJYRC Selection Trials

(La Canada, Flintridge, CA) – The final day of the 92nd Annual Flintridge Horse Show, featured two NAJYRC Selection Trial classes: the $3,500 High Junior/AO Jumper Classic and the $5,000 Open Jumper Classic.

The NAJYRC is the premier equestrian competition in North America for junior and young riders, age 14-21. Young equestrians come from the United States, Bermuda, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the Caribbean Islands to vie for team and individual FEI medals in the three Olympic equestrian disciplines of show jumping, dressage, eventing and the FEI World Equestrian Games disciplines of reining and endurance. The competition is run under rules of the FEI (Federation Equestre Internationale), the international governing body for equestrian sport, and is the only FEI championship held annually on this continent.

First place for both classes are as follows: The $3,500 High Junior/AO Jumper Classic was won by Olivia Champ riding Lady Sparkle, owned by Orcas Stables. First place in the $5,000 Open Jumper Classic went to Jenni McAllister riding Columbus, owned by Legisequine.com. Congratulation to both winners!

92nd Annual Flintridge Horse Show Highlights:
Abigail Weese emerged as the winner of the $25,000 Land Rover of Pasadena Grand Prix. Abigail was awarded the Malcolm Rossell Perpetual Trophy. Susan Artes atop Karina 445 took fifth place in Saturday’s the Grand Prix, giving her the lead in the GT Footing Grand Prix Series.

Jenny Karazissis won the $2,500 Sunnybrook Ranch Hunter Derby. The traditional Wine Tasting took place during the South Shore Farm’s Hunt Teams of Three Tandem. The winning team, Winnie the Pooh, received the ‘In the Spirit of Togetherness Tandem Award’. The special ‘Elvenstar Angel Award’ was given to the Run for the Roses
team for Best Costume.

Show Manager, Dale Harvey had this to say, “The two weeks here at Flintridge were an overwhelming success and we are really grateful to the Flintridge Riding Club for hosting these events.”

The 92nd Annual Flintridge Horse Show has been a charity benefit for the Huntington Memorial Hospital.

West Palm Events returns to Flintridge for the Flintridge Autumn Classic, September 26 – 29 2013.
