Flintridge Autumn Classic Hosts the Next Chapter in the GGT Grand Prix Series

Grand Prix Winner will be awarded the Lisa Kursinski Memorial Trophy

La Canada Flintridge, CA – The Flintridge Autumn Classic Horse Show, September 26 – 29, 2013, will be hosting the Grand Prix of Flintridge, a GGT Grand Prix Series Event, the winner is to be awarded the Lisa Kursinski Memorial Trophy.

The $260,000 GGT Grand Prix Series is designed to provide an opportunity for riders to compete at the 1.40m level for year-end awards and prizes. Horses and riders will be competing on newly installed GGT Footing, the premier footing solution available today.

 
The Flintridge Autumn Classic Horse Show Features:

$2,500 Cross Creek Farm Grand Prix Hunter Derby
The GPHD is open to all horses and riders and is a qualifying class for the $25,000 Grand Prix Hunter Derby Final which takes place at the Del Mar International Horse Show, October 16-27, 2013.

This class will feature a Rider Pool: $50 per entry fee of each qualifying class and the GPHD Final will be added together. The top four riders in the series will share the total pool at the GPHD Final. Shares of the rider pool will be allocated based on the following breakdown: 1st-50%; 2nd-25%; 3rd-15%; and 4th-10%.

This championship is a 3 phase competition held over 2 days

Day 1: Flintridge Amateur Equitation Classic Hunter Phase
Saturday, September 28
To be shown over a minimum of 8 jumps at 3′. A numerical score will be given.

Day 2: Flintridge Amateur Equitation Classic Equitation Phase
Sunday, September 29
To be shown over a minimum of 10 jumps at 3′. The judge will give a numerical score for each competitor’s round. Scores from the first phase will determine the order of go in the second phase. The highest scores will return last. The top three riders will return for additional testing at the conclusion of the second round. Sashes and special prizes will be awarded through 8th.

This class open to amateur members of USEF or Equine Canada. The same horse must be used in all phases of the event – No Exceptions. Only one rider per horse, unless the judge requests a change. Boots and conservative colored bandages are permitted in both phases.
