Mandy Porter and Eminent Top a Field of 51 Entries in Contested GGT-Footing Grand Prix Series Finale as Del Mar International Wraps Up Sunday Night

Sell-out crowds and a Who’s Who list of modern show-jumping legends were hallmarks of the 2015 Del Mar International Horse Show. As Sunday comes to a close, we’d like thank all of our 2015 sponsors for their commitment to our shows, our organization and our sport.

Highlights of the Del Mar International Horse Show included Saturday night’s $150,000 Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping Del Mar, handily won by Grand Prix superstar Beezie Madden aboard Simon in a spectacular jump off that had spectators out of their seats. Other notable moments included Jack Hardin Towell’s win aboard New York in the Welcome 1.45M, presented by Trelawny Farm; Richard Spooner and Chivas Z taking the Del Mar Charity 1.50M, presented by Davlyn Farms; Jenny Karazissis winning first and second aboard Legacy and Undeniable in the Grand Prix Hunter Derby Final, presented by Mark & Julie Hancock of Camelot Homes; our Shelter to Soldier fundraiser; and last but not least, the wildly popular Charity Woof Cup Classic.

Special classes on Sunday included the PHCA/Equine Insurance Child Adult Jumper Championship, the conclusion of the Onondarka Medal Finals, a number of big Classics, and the GGT Footing Grand Prix Series Finale.
Alyce Bittar takes home multiple wins at Del Mar International Horse Show

Alyce Bittar enjoyed unprecedented success in the PCHA/Equine Insurance Child Adult Jumper Championship this week! Alyce achieved first place, second place and fourth place in Round One aboard Cara B, Beirut B and Why Not B respectively, and she was first on Beirut B and third on Cara B in Round Two, earning her first place in the Overall Championship with Beirut B.  Second place in the Overall Championship was Allison Tussey aboard her own entry, Coccinelle, and third went to Alyce Bittar and Cara B. Third place in Round One went to Susan Meadows aboard Topper. Congratulations to all our riders who successfully navigated these complex courses!

In the GGT-Footing Grand Prix Series Finale, 51 entries including elite riders Will Simpson, Eric Navet, Karl Cook, Enrique Gonzales, Kent Farrington, Ray Texel, Christian Heineking and Nayel Nassar competed, and it was Mandy Porter aboard David Murdoch’s Eminent who took home the blue  for her second big win at the Del Mar International. Mandy and Eminent were also victorious in the $25,000 Welcome Prix during Del Mar International’s Welcome Week. Second place went to Christian Heineking on NKH Selena, who the previous night earned third aboard NKH Quanto in the Longines FEI World Cup Jumping Del Mar. Third place went to Ray Texel aboard Coupis, and Enrique Gonzales earned fourth place on Chacna. This pair also secured a third in the $35,000 Del Mar Charity on Friday night.

The Onondarka Medal Finals were a huge hit at the Del Mar International Horse Show as well, with Natalie Templeton taking first place in the extremely competitive Onondarka Medal
 Finals, with Bianca Jenkins earning second and Amber Ayyad third. Thank you again to the Simington family for their support and allowing us to host the Onondarka Medal Finals at the Del Mar International Horse Show, we are honored!
