2018 Michael Nyuis Scholarship Guidelines

  1. The total value of the Michael Nyuis Scholarship is $6500
  2. Riders may use up to $1500 per horse per show with a maximum of 2 horses per show. Rider may bring more than 2 horses to compete on, but can only use a maximum of $3000 for 2 horses at one event.
  3. There is no cash value for any amount that remains unused. The show credits are non-transferrable. The show credits are to be used by December 31, 2018. There is no carry-over of any unused credit.
  4. The show credit may be used at any 2016 West Palms Events horse show with the exception of the Del Mar National Horse Show and the Los Angeles Masters Horse Show. Shows that are “excluded shows” are subject to change at management’s discretion.
  5. The show credit may be applied to the following fees where you are listed as the sole rider of the horse: ○ Show Entries ○ Nomination Fees ○ Stall Fees
  6. The show credit may be applied to client’s horses as follows: ○ Show Entries for the classes you are listed as the rider ○ Nomination fees
  7. Scholarship recipient must provide a short blog post after each show attended about your experiences and what benefits the scholarship provided you. This will be posted per management’s approval.
  8. Provide 2 consecutive days of assistance, at a West Palms horse show of your choice, to the West Palms office staff. Duties will be assigned by the office manager and will be designed to give you an overview of the workings of a horse show event.
  9. All rules interpreted by management and all decisions are final.
  10. Applicant must be able to accept the scholarship if they are awarded it. Any institution that needs to give permission – such as a College Scholarship program – must give approval prior to the application submitting their application for the Scholarship Program. Failure to do so will result in forfeit of the Michael Nyuis Scholarship if the applicant is unable to immediately accept.
