The 2012 Del Mar Fall Equestrian Festival Has Come and Gone…

Not without many great riders, great horses, great sponsors, and great Halloween costumes!

Del Mar, California – With nearly 600 entries, this year’s Del Mar Fall Equestrian Festival was by far the largest yet. The caliber of competition increases each year, and this year was no exception. The two-week long event culminated on Saturday October 27 with the Villas at Rancho Valencia World Cup Grand Prix of Del Mar, presented by California Horsetrader. Lane Clark and Casseur de Prix, owned by Granville Equine, topped a field of 37 to capture the win in this World Cup and Thermal Million qualifying event.

Buddy Brown and Balios Z Hunt Down the Win in the Grand Prix Hunter Derby Final

Del Mar, California – The zombie flash mob couldn’t stop Lane Clarke and Casseur de Prix from putting down two spectacular clean rounds in tonight’s Villas at Rancho Valencia World Cup Grand Prix of Del Mar, presented by California Horsetrader. The pair was one of only four horse and rider combinations to make it to the jump-off in course designer Olaf Peterson’s big, technical course.

The 2012 Sacramento International Horse Show has come and gone, but not without solidifying its claim as the premier show jumping event in Northern California for the fifth consecutive year

Rancho Murieta, CA – If you were to head out to the Murieta Equestrian Center today, you’d never know that just two days ago the arena was filled to the rafters with spectators watching some of the greatest equestrian athletes in the world compete. As soon as the last horse jumped the last jump in the last class, the process of “undoing” the Sacramento International Horse Show began. A mere two hours later, it was almost unrecognizable.

Duncan and Mr. Whoopy wow the crowd in Sacramento as the duo secures the win in the Land Rover Grand Prix of Sacramento

Rancho Murieta, CA – The fifth anniversary of the Sacramento International Horse Show culminated last night with the $55,000 Land Rover Grand Prix of Sacramento. New Zealand transplant Duncan McFarlane and his stallion Mr. Whoopy thrilled a sold out Murieta Equestrian Center with a fast double clear for the win. Following the Grand Prix, Rich Fellers’ Flexible was named “Best Horse” for the second consecutive year.

Twenty-six horse and rider combinations attempted Heiko Wahler’s excellent course, with seven returning for the jump off. Duncan, Tiffany Sullivan, and Saer Coulter were the only three double clears.
