Opening Day at the 92nd Annual Flintridge Horse Show

(La Canada-Flintridge, CA) – The 92nd Annual Flintridge Horse Show opened today at the historic Flintridge Riding Club in La Canada, California. The sold out event is to benefit the Huntingtom Memorial Hospital in Pasdena. The show runs through Sunday with feature events both Friday and Saturday night. Show highlights:
Friday, April 26 – The $2,500 Sunnybrook Ranch Grand Prix Hunter Derby and the 12th Annual Wine Tasting during the South Shore Farm’s Hunt Teams of Three Tandem Show.

Saturday, April 27 – The $25,000 Land Rover Grand Prix, part of the $260,000 GGT Footing Grand Prix Series where riders compete at the 1.40m level. The Grand Prix features the Annual Saturday Evening Benefit Dinner for the Huntington Memorial Hospital, held under the lights in the Jimmy Williams Oval.

Sunday, April 28 – The North American Junior Young Rider Championship Trials include the $3,500 High Junior/Amateur Owner Jumper Classic and the $5,000 Open Jumper Classic.

Show manager Dale Harvey commented, “It’s really nice to have all of these top riders here supporting such a great cause. Huntington Memorial Hospital is a big part of the community here and we are really happy to be a part of it.”

The opening day saw a full schedule of classes in all rings and featured such well known professional riders as Susie Hutchison and former Canadian Show Jumping Champion, Chris Pratt. Susie Hutchison remarked, “West Palms puts on a great show and that is the real reason I am here at Flintridge.” Susie is expected to compete in Saturday nights Land Rover of Pasadena Grand Prix.

The show resumes tomorrow at 8 am and runs through Sunday, April 28.
