Second Week of Competition Begins at the Paso Robles Horse Park

 

The sold-out Central California Classic began a full schedule of classes today at the Paso Robles Horse Park! Competitors  and their horses enjoyed the fresh GGT- Footing and turf in the Fairway Field Grand Prix and Fairway Field Grand Hunter.

 

The Fairway Field Grand Prix saw some great rounds today to kick off the week. The 1.30m jumpers had great rounds, including Mariano Alario and Camaran Cr with a double clear to take home the first blue in the series! The 1.35m jumpers contained some excellent competition, but in the end it was Linda Starkman’s Thumb’s Up and Joie Gatlin who won the class! Lindsay Archer and Famko S were victorious in the last class of the day in the Fairway Field Grand Prix, the 1.40m jumpers!

 Over in the Fairway Field Grand Hunter, Peter Lombardo and Tache Rouge kicked off the week with a blue ribbon in the Performance Hunters 3’3! The Performance Hunters 3’6 was taken by Jamie Taylor and King’s Peak!

The Oak Grove Arena had a busy schedule, seeing a great deal of Pre-Green Hunters on the printing GGT-Footing! In the Pre-Green Hunters 3’/3’3, Jamie Taylor had another great round, this time with Crocket CWF starting the week off on a good note, winning the class!

 

The .65m to 1.10m jumpers were held in the LD Hayes Arena, with stellar GGT-Footing for the competitors. The 1.0m jumpers had a fun course, with Kristin Hardin and Caruso’s Barichello Z having a beautiful, clean round to leave with the blue. Sophie Verges and Komtessa had a great class in the 1.10m  jumpers, walking away  with a blue ribbon.

The Central California Classic will see competitors in the USHJA Pre-Green Challenge on Thursday afternoon, with the final at Del Mar International Horse Show, sponsored by Dragonfly Creek Farm and Anne Marie Mueller!
Friday afternoon is busy with a complimentary BBQ at the North End of Vendor Row-be sure to pick up your tickets in the office-and the USHJA International Hunter Derby in the Fairway Field Grand Hunter! Don’t miss all the exciting action of the USHJA International Hunter Derby with world-class riders!
Saturday is an exciting afternoon with the first ever Art and Wine Reception beginning at 2PM next to vendor row, benefitting Studios on the Park. Studios on the Park is a local nonprofit art center, located in historic downtown Paso Robles. The Art and Wine Reception will feature world renowned Paso Robles Wineries, including: CaliPaso Winery, Lone MadroneEberle WinerySculpterra Winery and Sculpture GardenRobert Hall Winery and SummerWood Winery and Inn.

Saturday evening, we will see a competitive group of athletes compete in the CWD Grand Prix of Paso Robles at 5PM, a GGT-Footing Grand Prix Series qualifying event! During the CWD Grand Prix, we will have an exceptional VIP Dinner by Chef Jeffrey Scott!  Limited space available, please reserve your tables today in the show office, or by emailing Danielle at Danielle@WestPalmsEvents.com
