Italian American Princess
Last fall I had the privileged opportunity to spend a week with some of the best small manufacturers in Northern Italy. I was of course in search of the perfect new boutique line of equestrian fashion to bring back home.  Meetings in Italy go as follows: Morning greet, espresso chit chat, then some Prosecco…followed by a full 4-5 course lunch, then some more Prosecco…maybe some afternoon espresso and sweets…Prosecco…you get the picture. Some where in between a “Salute!” we also discussed design elements, fabrics, branding, manufacturing, all the less important things when making a business relationship with the Italians.  Because in Italy once you are welcomed into the family you are welcomed into the family business.  Which is why I am so enamored with Marta Morgan and her beautiful line of ladies’ equestrian apparel.

Marta Morgan speaks my language, Princess. Her clothes are ultra feminine and down right pretty. Her lovely collection of shirts is fitted and light weight with crisp cotton panels and breathable stretch fabric that moves wherever you do.  While the front design creates a beautiful curve to your body, the back side is where her shirt really shines.  A delicate princess cut sleeve and a little bling button for good measure makes this my new go-to fashion show shirt.
Now I have never really been a fan of the puffy jacket, because, well they usually make you look puffy!  Low and behold the non-puffy-puffy jacket.  This little gem can actually fit into my purse and keep me warm on that blessed chilly LA morning.  While every European company produces spring jackets that I would only be able to wear on my winter trip to Europe, Miss

Morgan has actually created a fashionable spring jacket that is just the right weight for us Sunny So Cal ladies.

Ok now I will blow your equestrian fashion minds. Remember the beautiful pinstripe wool coats you all loved to sport in the hunter arena? You know, the dark ages when people still wore melton wool!  Since the death of the wool coat I have been on the hunt for a pinstripe, but this time in a full stretch washable tech fabric.  My Italian comrades did me proud and I am happy to present you with the modern grey pinstripe 3-button classically fit hunter show coat. Ta dah!
You can see the entire Marta Morgan collection at the upcoming West Palms LA Equestrian Festival and the 95th Annual Flintridge Horse Show.
